Knowledge 3, article of faith 13

We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul--We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. At Christmas, mummy, daddy and granny (and myself) went to a concert about Christmas! It was very good with live music/Orchestra, a funny conductor and an amazing choir. The songs were "lovely" and very uplifting. They really brought the true spirit of Christmas as we remembered how Jesus Christ was born/the nativity. Most of the dresses were beautiful but a few members of the choir wore quite revealing dresses with splits on the side. This was a shame as it distracted from the performance which was of "good report". Other than that little thing, the evening was a very "praiseworthy" one. I hope...

Divine nature 1, divine qualities

2 Peter 1, alma 7:23-24, doctrine and covenants 121:45 What are some of the divine qualities of a daughter of God? Charity, temperance, patience, virtue, confidence, humble, submissive, gentle, diligent, faithful, grace, peace, godliness and kindness. We can develop our diligence when we keep the commandments. By treating others with respect, we can practice charity and kindness. If we are faithful and believe in our saviour and Heavenly Father, they can help us to have confidence and belief in ourselves so that we can stand up for what we think to be true. We must remember however to be humble.

Faith 2, faith of a mother

The mothers of the stripling warriors had much faith to be able to send their kids into battle. They had very strong testimonies. Because they were so firm in the gospel, their children followed their example and knew that God would be there to protect them. They protected their people and only a few of them were injured however, none were killed. Because their mothers had great faith, they were not harmed. A mother needs to have a strong testimony so that she can be a good example to her children and teach the correct principles, she needs to be obedient and listen to what God asks of her and never doubt it and she needs to exercise daily prayer and scripture study.

10/1/16 conducting

Today was church. It was my turn to conduct and I was given the most difficult songs from the entire songbook with lots of annoying mysterious random pauses. Apparently I did really well (according to all of the other members). The other week when I was conducting, the music stand wasn't in its place so daddy/bishop gave amber the look so she was "forced" to stand up in front of everyone. She said it was embarrassing. I was very grateful though because otherwise my arm would've ached from holding the book too long.

Choice & Accountability 4, repentance

Repentance means a lot to me because I have been through my own personal trials and it is great to know that once you have fully repented of your sins, they will be forgotten. It does always worry me that I won't repent to the fullest or that I will miss out on an important step but as long as I want to do all the necessary things and my heart is in the right place. I am so grateful that Jesus atoned for my sins. He also has gone through what I have, so it is great to have someone that understands. When the Saviour prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, he took upon himself everyone's sins. I can barely cope with my own so I don't know what pain and suffering he experienced. I am very thankful!!! The steps of repentance are: Recognising what you have done is wrong Confession Restitution (putting things right) Remorse/Godly sorrow Saying sorry Repenting Forsaking (not doing it any more) Forgiveness

Knowledge 1, importance of learning

In Proverbs 4:7, it says that wisdom is a principal thing. Also in D&C 90:15 it says to learn about good things like languages and books. D&C 130:18-19 it says that whatever intelligence we gain on the earth will taken with us when we are resurrected. The more knowledge we gain on the earth, the bigger the advantage we will have in the future. It is definitely very important to learn as much as we can and try really hard to make the most of the opportunities we are given so we can develop and benefit when we return to heaven.

This year my form tutor was mrs looker and our head of house was mrs turner. Mrs looker is leaving though so we will have some new form tutors. I made good friends with Georgia b, Chloe, margi, anashe and jalilah. They were all in my tech group this year. In my exams I got 100% in maths. I was extremely happy!!! This year I took my grade 3 exam for piano and passed with merit. For gym and dance our theme was the little mermaid and we came 3rd. Last year we came 2nd when I choreographed it. I started dance this year with miss Natalie doing ballet and modern. I also participated in the main production that happens every other year. I want to continue this year by also doing tap, pointe and contemporary. I think it was a successful year! Year 9 now!!!

Faith 4, sacrament

Blessing on the Bread     O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls of all those who partake of it, that they may eat in remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of thy Son, and always remember him and keep his commandments which he has given them; that they may always have his Spirit to be with them. Amen. Blessing on the Bread Blessing on the Water     O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this water to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in remembrance of the blood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his Spirit to be with them. Amen. Blessing on the Water We need to remember the atonement an...

Individual worth 3, make others feel of worth

Heart attacks are good because you cut out hearts write nice messages and stick it all on someone's door. This is what we did on a youth night in young women's. I think that everyone was really surprised when they came home to find it all! I would have been. So I decided to do something similar for my granny. I used scriptures like D&C 18:10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God. I also put in mini messages to show her my gratitude and love.

Faith 1, faith in the Lord and prayer

I find that prayer is really useful and comforting to know that we have it. I know that I can use prayer in my times of need and that Heavenly Father will listen to me. These are some scriptures about faith: Hebrews 11; Alma 32:17-43; Ether 12:6-22; and Joseph Smith -HIstory 1:11-20

Good works 3, comfort others

7 And it came to pass after many days there were a goodly number gathered together at the place of Mormon, to hear the words of Alma. Yea, all were gathered together that believed on his word, to hear him. And he did teach them, and did preach unto them repentance, and redemption, and faith on the Lord. 8 And it came to pass that he said unto them: Behold, here are the waters of Mormon (for thus were they called) and now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; 9 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life-- 10 Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you aga...

Faith 5, Atonement

Isaiah 53:3-12 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Jesus wasn't likes by people. No one looked up to him and wanted to talk to him.  4 ¶Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  Even though Jesus took our sins upon him for the good if us, we put him on the cross and afflicted him. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Some people do lots of stuff wrong and some people don't follow God but The Lord  suffered for the iniquity of men anyway because he loves us. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened n...

Divine nature 3, strengthen a relationship

I am going to choose my whole family.  I'm going to try achieve the goal by: - making them feel good about themselves.  - trying to compliment instead of criticise. - help them in their jobs. These are the good things about my family: -they always look out for me -my sisters always want me to be happy as well as themselves -my parents try to do the best thing -they all love me very much -when I am kind, they are kind to me back -if you help each other in service, you make everyone feel happy -no one wants to make me feel sad

Choice and accountability 3, agency

D&C 82:2-10 2 Nevertheless, there are those among you who have sinned exceedingly; yea, even all of you have sinned; but verily I say unto you, beware from henceforth, and refrain from sin, lest sore judgments fall upon your heads. We have all sinned but in future we can choose not to do wrong. If you don't choose the right, the judgements will be bad. 3 For of him unto whom much is given much is required; and he who sins against the greater light shall receive the greater condemnation. If you have been blessed you have more responsibility and knowledge so you would know not to sin. You will receive the worst punishment because you know what you should be doing. 4 Ye call upon my name for revelations, and I give them unto you; and inasmuch as ye keep not my sayings, which I give unto you, ye become transgressors; and justice and judgment are the penalty which is affixed unto my law. You ask Heavenly Father for help and guidance but you don't listen to what he says. Then he ...

My qualities

My friends say that I am smiley, I recognise other peoples qualities, I am playful and fun, I'm good at guitar, singing, dancing and acting. My grandparents say that I am patient, calm, I don't get angry, I'm happy, I'm kind and helpful, and I'm bright and intelligent. Mummy says I am intelligent, musical, a very good dancer and singer. I am also a good peace maker, calm, kind and have a lovely personality that shines out of my pretty face :) If I work hard at School, my gifts will develop. For example, my skills at guitar would get better or my knowledge will increase. When I am older, I want to be a songwriter and share my uplifting music with the world. This is also a great way to be a missionary. With my patience and playfulness, I can be a good member of our family by keeping everyone entertained and being a pleasant person for people to be around.

Heavenly Father loves me and knows me

Image
We are all unique and have different qualities. Before we were born god knew us, for example... Before Joseph smith was born, Heavenly Father knew he would be a prophet. He tells us to love one another as he loves us. Heavenly Father loves us all very much so he wants us all to be so kind to each other that there is no hatred. In D&C 18:10 it reads...                   "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of god" This tells me that we are all so special to god. He knows each and every one of us as in Joseph smith history it say...                      "One of them spoke to me, calling me by name." I have a testimony that god is real and he loves and knows each of us. We are all children of Heavenly Father.

My goals...

When I am older I would like... ... A large family with a variety of boys and girls. I will teach them to pray, read their scriptures and keep the commandments. ... A peaceful reverent home where only kind words are used. ... To finish sixth form and go on a mission. There I will hopefully find an occupation that I would like to do. After I will go to BYU in either America or Hawaii.  ... To be a wife and a mother ... To be a songwriter and spread good messages around the world. ... To get married in the temple. I will achieve this by helping around the home, reading proclamation to the world, going to church & being taught by my mother. I will read my scriptures, pray and get a testimony of the church. I will stay worthy to go to the temple.

My individual worth

I have recently participated in many different performances: I sang my own composition in a talent show at the pavilion, I participated in the evening of the stars and I am currently choreographing a dance for my class! All of these things are helping me with my confidence, for example, I didn't think I would be voted to choreograph our dance for the competition. After performing at the talent shows, people congratulated me and told me that I did such a great job! This has helped me think I have a gift that I can use in future and not be afraid.
